A great day out with a labrynith of underground tunnels and
grottoes revealing a fascinating history. These gardens lay
undiscovered for many years until they were eventually found and
restored to their former glory over the course of the last couple
Kenfig National Nature Reserve,
Explore this huge coastal landscape. Take one
of the many paths to discover what lies beneath the sands.
Bird hides surround the large lake whilst there are many unique
flora and fauna to be found including the rare Fen Orchid.
On the banks of the Severn Estuary, Newport Wetlands is a haven
for wildlife. Cetti's warblers and bearded tits can be seen
and heard in the reedbeds, and ducks, geese and swans visit the
reserve in large numbers during the winter. A visitor centre,
café and children's play area make it a perfect spot for a family
