What else?
There’s plenty to keep you occupied in Southern Wales
Of course there's our castles and museums but why not
try some of our other attractions.
Whisky connoisseurs (or even those with just a passing
interest) should pay a visit to the Penderyn
Distillery, just north of Cardiff. This is Wales' only
distillery and produces its products using the water sourced from
the natural spring on which it sits in the foothills of the Brecon
Beacons National Park.
For the sports fan, the Millennium Stadium is highly recommended.
More than just another sports stadium, this is the heartbeat of
Wales, where the mood of the nation is determined by results on the
pitch. Take a tour behind the scenes - up to the top of the
stands (if you're not afraid of heights) and down into the players'
changing rooms. Then walk down the tunnel and on to the pitch
to the sound of 74,000 screaming fans and the National Anthem
playing.
If there are any children in your party then head for Greenmeadow Farm at Cwmbran. The kids
will love meeting all familiar (and not so familiar) farmyard
animals. Children with an enquiring mind will love
Techniquest in Cardiff Bay. A great hands on attraction with
over 120 interactive and scientific exhibits and experiments, it's
an educational fun day out.
